HELD EXERCISES IN BRITAIN AIR FORCE CO-OPERATION. ARRIVAL OF JUNE MAIL. (From the Official War Correspondent attached to the New Zealand Forces in Britain). LONDON, August 1. The second full-scale field exercise carried out in Britain by the Second Echelon covered three night and four days. It consisted of a course in which infantry brigades “fought” each other in a series of day and night attacks in which the Air Force co-operated with dive-bombing and machine-gunnings of the troops’ position. Further valuable lessons were learned by the men. who are again eager for more advanced training, which is now well forward. ( The first steamer mail from New Zealand, despatched on June 22, was received today, comprising four bags. A much larger mail is expected next week.
