The national foreign trade convention unconditionally endorsed President Roosevelt's reciprocal trade programme and national defence policies, recommended repeal of the Johnson Act (prohibiting loans to war loan defaultersi. reaffirmed its confidence in the gold standard, advocated a return to gold as requisite to world trade, urged modification or repeal of the Neutrality Acl. provisions which are unnecessarily restraining American trade, shipping and finance and endorsed the actions of the Havana Conference.
