Mrs W. Hodges, of Wellington, is visiting Masterton. Mrs J. B. Hume, of Masterion, is visiting Auckland. Mrs A. Caselberg, Masterton. is the guest of Mrs C. E. Richardson, Wellington. Mrs A. L. Paterson, of Renall Street, Masterton, is on a visit to her parents, Mr and Mrs W. Jenkins, of Wanganui. Mrs E. H. Burling, of Pahiatua, is making satisfactory progress in the Tararua Private Hospital after her recent operation. Brigadier Florence Birks and Brigadier Smith, of the Salvation Army Training College. Wellington, will pay a visit to Masterton at the weekend and will be the guests of Mr and Mrs Bannister, Cornwall Street. Miss Grace Hopkins, of Auckland, is the guest of her sister. Mrs K. Eastwood, The Terrace, Lansdowne. Miss Hopkins, who is training as a nurse in the Auckland Hospital, was a former resident of Masterton. At a private hospital at Wellington yesterday the death occurred of Miss Anastasia Carrick, daughter of Mrs M. E. Carrick and the late Mr M. B. Carrick, of Hataitai, and sister of Mother M. John, Dominican Convent, Auckland, and Mrs J. A. E. Kerslake, Masterton. Relatives in Wairarapa this week received letters from Sir Herbert and Lady Hart, formerly of Masterton, stating that at the time of writing (early in July) they and their daughter were well, but that no letters had been received from New Zealand for come considerable time.
