TWO RECORDS
Two personal records arc claimed by Mr T. A. Maskew. of “Thornbury.’ Domett. Mr Maskew. at the age of 86, is the oldest living “old boy” of his school, the Dorchester Grammar School, Dorset, England. He became a boarder at. the school on March 31. 1855, his birthday. His father, the Rev T. R. Maskew, was then headmaster of the school and later became Rector of Thornbury. Worcester, from which Mr Maskew’s farm takes its name. Mr Maskew’s second record is shared with his son. Mr G. A. Maskew. of Dunedin. Both are superannuitants of the New Zealand Post and Telegraph Department. There is no previous record of father and son. both living, being superannuitants of the department. Mr T. A. Maskew entered the service of the department on August 1. 1878, and retired after nearly 41 years’ service in 1919. at the age of 65. His son entered the service at the age of 16 and was retired this year under the new regulations aftei 40 years' service.
