AMERICAN EMBARGO DENOUNCED FURIOUSLY IN JAPAN. NEWSPAPER’S WILD TALK. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) SHANGHAI. July 28. The Japanese-controlled Press bitterly attacked the American embargo, which the “Tairiku Shimpo” says “demonstrates America’s conspicuously unfriendly and challenging attitude toward Japan. . . . The tension between Japan and America has reached the final stage where it is difficult to break the deadlock.” The "Shin Sumenao” says that undoubtedly Japan will deal a blow to the aggressive American Far Eastern policy. AMERICAN APOLOGY ORIENTAL CAFE INCIDENT SETTLED. (Received This Day, 9.0 a.m.) SHANGHAI. July 29. Mr Butrick Peck has visited Consul Miura and expressed regrets for the Oriental Cafe incident. Mr Miura accepted this as a satisfactory settlement and withdrew the Japanese claims for compensation.
