WOMEN’S DIVISION

IHURAUA BRANCH. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Ihuraua branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union held a successful meeting recently at the residence of Mr D. Bennett, Hoebridge. After the business had been disposed of the remainder of the afternoon was devoted- to Red Cross and refugee work. A bundle of baby clothes was given by Mrs McCarthy. The school children donated several garments besides 90 peggy squares. This is the second lot of squares the children have provided and considering the small number on the roll and that the age of the majority is under nine years, it is a very creditable effort. Mr C. R. Judd was accorded a vote of thanks by acclamation for his donation of £5 to buy materials. Afternoon tea, dispensed by Misses N. Bennett and P. Bennett brought the meeting to a close.
