Advocacy of a capital levy by the •’Daily Express” is attracting the attention of political and financial circles. An “Express” editorial visualises a levy of 10 per cent on all fortunes at present values and also suggests higher taxation of incomes between £2OO and £5OO yearly, recipients of which have enjoyed comparative immunity from taxation for many years.
