FURTHER GERMAN ATTACKS ON BRITAIN
Number -of Enemy Machines Destroyed MANY OBJECTIVES BOMBED BY ROYAL AIR FORCE SUPPLY SHIPS DEALT WITH OFF NORWEGIAN AND DUTCH COASTS Five more German planes were lost in raids on Britain yesterday, a Daventry broadcast states. At least 70 German planes took part. Although the enemy managed to cross the Channel under cover of clouds, the raiders were discovered by patrols of Hurricanes and Spitfires. One enemy plane crashed into the sea and two others on land. An Air Ministry communique reports that bomber aircraft on Saturday and Saturday night attacked the North Sea Canal in North Holland, barges in Friesland and oil depots, docks and wharves, besides'eight enemy aerodromes in Germany. All the machines returned. An enemy fighter was shot down in Saturday’s operations off the Norwegian coast, when an enemy supply ship was bombed. Another enemy supply ship was bombed off the Dutch coast on Saturday and left in a sinking condition.
