Gill, Cole Street, Masterton. is staying with her daughter, Mrs B. Blundell, New Plymouth. Miss Pharazyn, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs C. Campbell Heard, Lansdowne. Mr and Mrs Badland. Wellington, have booked in at the Hotel Midland, Masterton. Mrs J. Lawson, Pownall Street, Masterton, who has been visiting Napier, has returned to Masterton. Mrs Gdrringe, who has been staying with her mother, Mrs W. A. Todd, Lansdowne, has returned to Mangaweka. Mr and Mrs A. J. Chappel and their infant son, Trevor, have returned to Masterton, after spending a holiday at Waipukurau. Mrs Brigadier Melksham. of the Salvation Army, Australia, who will pay a visit to Masterton at the weekend, will be the guest of Mrs O. A. Fairbrother, Opaki Road. The death has occurred of Mrs Harriett Cain, Balmoral, who was born in Auckland 92 years ago. Mrs Cain's parents arrived at Wellington from England in 1839 and made the journey to Auckland on foot. She was married in 1864 to Mr James Cain, and for many years resided at Kopu, near Thames. For the past 11 years Mrs Cain had lived in Balmoral, and enjoyed excellent health till six months ago. Her husband died in 1925 and there are no children.
