GENEROUS GIFT

FLEET OF AMERICAN AMBULANCES PRESENTED TO BRITAIN. MR MALCOLM MACDONALD'S ACKNOWLEDGMENT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 11.20 a.m.) RUGBY. July 25. The Minister of Health (Mr Malcolm MacDonald) has accepted in London a large part of a fleet of 260 fully-equip-ped motorised ambulances, surgical units and mobile first aid posts of the American Ambulance in Britain from Mr W. B. Phillips. Director-General of the service, who is presenting them on behalf of Americans in Britain. Mr MacDonald said the vehicles would preserve a distinct and independent status, but would fit in completely witfi the organisation of our own emergency services. Some of the vehicles would be posted to every region in England. Scotland and Wales. There would be no part of the island where citizens would not have reason to thank and bless their American friends' generosity.
