JAPANESE FORCES
ATTACKED BY CHINESE GUERILLAS IN HONG KONG MAINLAND TERRITORY FIGHTING CONTINUES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9 a.m.) HONG KONG. July 24. The Associated Press of Great Britain states that 3000 Chinese guerillas battled since dawn with 900 Japanese, who last month occupied the mainland strip, thus blocking the colony’s communications with China. The Japanese forced the attackers to retreat. Fighting, however, continues 20 miles from the centre of Hong Kong.
