ATTACKS ON SHIPPING
TOLL TAKEN OF ENEMY. (Received This Day. 9 a.m.) LONDON, July 24. German bombers thrice raided shipping off the South-East Coast. One bomber was shot down, while trying to give a small boat, armed with an antiaircraft gun, a severe dose of bombs. The R.A.F. shot down a third plane during the day in South-West England. One German was killed, one injured and two were made prisoners.
