INDOOR BASKETBALL

MORMON ELDERS DEFEAT W.F.C.A. Playing in a special practice indoor basketball match last evening the visiting Mormon Elders defeated the W.F.C.A. team by 22 points to 18. There was a good attendance of spectators and they were treated to a good exhibition of the game. The W.F.C.A. team play a bustling type of game as a rule, but the clever passing and pivoting of the Elders when they had possession of the ball kept the W.F.C.A. players rather subdued. The best player on the floor was Elder Baum-Gartner (Auckland), who combined well with Elder Acomb. These two players scored eight points each and D. Leete six points. For W.F.C.A.. N. Faulknor scored 10 points and N. Wilson and R. Harrington 4 points each. It is hoped that within the next few weeks another Mormon team will visit Masterton and try conclusions with a fully representative team. The referees for the match .were Messrs D. M. Reilly and D. Costello.
