RUGBY FOOTBALL

JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL GAME ON SATURDAY. At Greytown on Saturday next the final game for the junior championship will be played between Martinborough and Carterton. Junior football in Wairarapa has, this season, reached a good standard, which is reflected in the excellent performance of the Wairarapa junior representative team beating a strong Hawke's Bay side at Masterton this season. The meeting of Carterton and Martinborough is causing a lot ot interest, and the supporters of both sides are confident of the result. Whichever team wins spectators can rely on seeing a good exhibition of the Rugby game by two well matched sides. WAIRARAPA v. BUSH. Wairarapa and Bush, old rivals in the Rugby world, will meet at Memorial Park next Saturday. At one time the Bush game was treated by Wainu rapa as a preliminary canter, but that day has gone and in recent years the Bush have enjoyed more than its share of wins. In the game next Saturday the wearers of the Green jersey will not need to take chances as the Bush forwards are of the rugged type, who are supported by a sound back division. Wairarapa will find them a hard team to beat. The president of the Bush Union, Mr R. J. Smith, will accompany the Bush team down to Masterton, and under his critical eye operations of the Bush team will be directed. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. REFEREES APPOINTED. Senior. Wairarapa v Bush.
