NEWS FOR TROOPS
GOOD SERVICE IN EGYPT, APPRECIATION EXPRESSED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The daily news bulletin transmitted by radio from Wellington to Egypt is evidently much appreciated by the troops. A member of the First Echelon, writing to his father under date July 1, says: “We are kept well up with the news by the radio set at the Y.M.C.A. and the Army issue of the main New Zealand news every day. Looking at today’s news, it doesn’t appear as though the car will be out very much. Six gallons won't last very long, over a month away. Oh, I nearly missed this. On top of the news sheet is ‘Wellington, July 1, 1940,’ and does it look good? I’ll say.” In addition to the daily news bulletin, a regular supply of newspaper clippings is dispatched weekly. These services constitute additional reminders that the men who have left these shores are constantly remembered by the folk at home.
