SIGNIFICANCE OF LINKING OF DEMOCRACIES. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. July 19. The significance of the linking by air of the democracies of the northern and Southern Hemispheres was the keynote of the speeches at the luncheon given by the Harbour Board today to celebrate the inauguration of the Empire and Pan-American airway services to New Zealand. The gathering
was a large and notable one. including Mr Webb and Mr Sullivan. Sir Harry Batterbee, leading representatives of the two air services and prominent citizens.
