Armed men, believed to be members of the 1.R.A., entered a Government store in Belfast this afternoon, bailed up the staff, cut telephone wires and set fire to the building. Other gunmen occupied a nearby A.R.P. post and held off the wardens while their comrades scattered petrol around the store, which the Government recently took over for produce exports. The fire destroyed supplies of bacon, ham and butter.
