MENACE TO EIRE
DENIED BY THE NAZIS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, July 13. The Berlin radio denies that Germany is planning to violate the neutrality of Eire, but says “any attempts to reshape relations between England and Eire will inevitably help to extend the theatre of war.” The people of Southern Ireland, the Defence Minister of Eire stated in a speech reported by Daventry, might soon be in rather a tight corner. At any moment Southern Ireland might become the scene of enemy operations. He asked the people to make themselves familiar with the voices of their radio announcers. In the last six weeks, he said. 120.000 had volunteered for defence service, 25,000 during the past week.
