INVASION PLANS

BRITISH OPEN SPACES MAPPED. ENGLISH TEACHER SPEAKS OF "SCHOOLS." A woman who taught English in Friedrichshafen shortly before the war revealed in England how she found that her- pupils were members •of the Nazi parachute corps. She said: “Hitler ordered that all boys between 15 and 20 must speak English and soon I had hundreds of pupils. Among them, and somewhat older, was an officer in the Hitler Youth Corps. “To gain his confidence and to do a bit of secret service, I pretended to admire Hitler and detest England. I found from him that I was in the heart of the new parachute corps and that he was their leader. “My pupils were all parachutists and I ascertained that they had maps of all open spaces near the east and northeast coasts of England and Scotland and all vulnerable spots near bridges, factories and ports. “They had plans all made for landing here. They had agents waiting io act for them in various parts of Britain, and these were by no means all German. “Among disguises they proposed to use were those of Boy Scouts. They were to be armed with small bombs, a little larger than eggs, and capable of immense damage. “There was a second large “school” for parachutists at Cologne. Scores thousands of youths were training for the parachute corps all over Germany. “At Friedrichshafen I watched boys train by jumping from wooden towers and going higher each time they jumped. Many, I heard, were killed in training.”
