MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP. A meeting of the central committee of the Wairarapa Returned Soldiers’ , Association was held in Masterton last night, the president, Mr R. Whyborn being in the chair. There were also present Messrs H. G. Alexander, H. J. Brass, L. S. Nicol, W. R. McMinn, L. T. Wylie, J. D. O’Connor (Master’s ton), C. A. Chennells, A. T. Murray !r (Carterton). Miss L. Higginson (Greytown). N. H. Thomas, N. C. D. Mason (Martinborough) and the secretary, Mr A. E. Prentice. Apologies for absence c were received from Messrs F. Shearer (Masterton) and A. Robbins (Feathersa ton). A considerable amount of corresponP dence was dealt with, chiefly dealing with military service and the conditions affecting members of the Second N.Z.E.F. The treasure) - . Mr Nicol, submitted the monthly financial statement, which was adopted. The financial membership was shown at 646 and it was reported that applications for membership were being freely received. Ten new members elected at the meeting. I) A sub-committee was set up to enquire into the possibility of arranging a concert for the men in camp at Tauherenikau at an early date. i- Il was decided to call all ex-service y men together for a social evening to •- be held in the Masonic Hall on July e 30. A sub-committee was set up to ■e arrange a suitable programme.
