SUCCESSFUL ATTACKS
MADE ON ITALIAN BASES OIL DEPOTS SET ON FIRE. DAMAGE DONE TO AERODROMES. (British Official,Wireless.) I (Received This Dav, 10.0 a.m.) RUGBY, July 11. An official communique issued in 3 Cairo says Sidi Barrari was bombed ( yesterday by enemy aircraft. Slight E damage was caused, but. there were no G casualties. 1 A formation of Blenheims attacked a ' large petrol dump near Tobruk. Direct hits w r ere registered on the target and large flames were seen. Several raids were carried out against Macaca Aerodrome and landing grounds on Tuesday evening. A direct hit was registered on one hangar, much black smoke resulting. Yesterday, aerodrome buildings were bombed and several fires started, while another raid was carried out by bombers supported by fighters. The latter destroyed three aeroplanes on the ground by machine-gun fire. All our aircraft returned safely.
