SWEDISH DESTROYERS
ATTACKED IN ERROR BY BRITISH NAVAL FORCES. EXPRESSION OF REGRET. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) STOCKHOLM, July 10. A Swedish communique states that four Swedish destroyers, purchased from Italy, entered Swedish waters after being seized and damaged by a strong British naval force on June 20, off the Faroe Islands. British planes on July 8 attacked, but did not damage the same destroyers, off the Norwegian coast. Britain has agreed to pay damages and has expressed regret for the mistake.
