It is officially stated that Herr Hitler is receiving Count Ciano, Count Teleki, and Count Csaky for a conference on all the problems of interest to the Axis powers and Hungary. HUNGARY HELD BACK ACCORDING TO MUNICH REPORTS. AXIS NEED OF QUIET BALKAN!?. (Received This Day, 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, July 10. The Associated Press of Great Britain Munich correspondent says that according to informed circles, Herr Hitler, Herr von Ribbentrop and Count Ciano told Counts Teleki and Csaky that Hungary must not at present upset the Balkan position by trying to secure her rights. Informed circles explained that ■ the Hungarian determination to obtain Transylvania runs counter to Axis policy. Italy and Germany need a quiet Balkans while fighting Britain and also while peace with France is still not made. It is added that Germany is determined not to endorse the Hungarian claims until Hungary guarantees a favourable treatment of German minorities and also defines her policy in relation to German plans for European reconstruction. A later message from Munich states that a communique issued after Herr Hitler’s conference states: “The conversations were conducted in an atmosphere reflecting the traditional friendship between Germany. Italy and Hungary.” z
