BOMBING ATTACKS
ENEMY WARSHIP SET ON FIRE
OIL REFINERIES DAMAGED. THE STAVANGER BATTLE. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 9. In the course of R.A.F. -raids' over Germany and German occupied territory attacks were made yesterday on an aerodrome at Evere, near Brussells, and oil refineries at Homburg. An enemy supply ship was attacked near Aalborg, Denmark, and is believed to have been hit by a salvo of heavy bombs, some of which also burst in the harbour and on the wharves. Last night a warship in a German dockyard was attacked and set on fire. In a raid on the Stavanger (Norway) aerodrome 12 British bombers met with strong enemy fighters and ground defence and seven failed to return. At least one German fighter was destroyed.
EAST ANGLIA BOMBED CASUALTIES IN TOWN. LONDON, July 10. The Air Ministry announces: “Enemy planes bombed a town in East Anglia last night. Some of the bombs fell on buildings, and others in streets, and there were a niimber of civilian casualties. including some killed. “Five bombs which were dropped in a south-western town caused considerable damage in a residential area. The casualties are yet unknown.”
