SHANGHAI INCIDENT
MR HULL CONFIDENT OF SETTLEMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.50 a.m.) WASHINGTON, July 9. Mr Cordell Hull (Secretary of State) said he had confidence in the ability of the American and Japanese officials in Shanghai to settle the incident arising from the arrest by Marines of Japanese gendarmes.
