‘PEOPLE’S IDEAS

jRATEFUL RECRUITS (To the Editor.) Sir, —On behalf of the recruits who were attested on Tuesday at the Masterton Drill Hall, I wish to extend their sincere thanks to the ladies who so kindly supplied the hot soup to those present. I need to say no more than that this action was very much appreciated by all the recipients. It is gratifying to know that the ladies responsible for such a thoughtful action are. interesting themselves to some great extent in the welfare of the recruits. —I am, etc., P.D. Masterton, July 9.
