BRITISH UNEMPLOYED

LOWEST FIGURE SINCE 1920. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day. 12.35 p.m.) LONDON, July 8. The unemployed on June 17 totalled 766.835, the lowest figure since 1920 and also 582.744 fewer when compared with June 12 of last year. A reduction was affected in all areas and in most industries. The figures would have been even lower except for the registration of 92.000 non-claimants for the unemployment benefit, most of whom are women anxious to engage in war work.
