MAHUNGA CLUB GAMES MEDAL ROUND AND TROPHY COMPETITIONS. RESULTS OF SATURDAY’S PLAY. The best net scores for a medal round played on Saturday by members of the Mahunga Golf Club were:—J. G. McFarlane 68, A. McCalmont 69, J. Norrie 69, G. Turner 69. I. McFarlane 70, R. F. Buick 71, V. E. Burridge 71. R. B. McPherson 71, L. M. Roach 71. The following players (with the exception of the last three mentioned players who will play another round to decide 15th and 16th positions) qualified to play the ladies' trophy competition (match play on handicap): J. G. McFarlane 137, J. Norrie 141. C. Sandbek 141, M. Syron 141, V. E. Burridge 142, L. M. Roach 143, R. B. McPherson 144. J. Corbishley 144, J. W. T. Jones 144, F. C. Brocket 145, A. O. Jones 146, J. W. Dove 147. N. Bach 148, G. R. Beecroft 148, I. McFarlane 149, D. Carruthers 149, R. F. Buick 149. The second round of the captain’s competition was completed on Saturday, the results being: R. J. Towns beat W. J. Boyce 2/1, K. McFarlane beat C. A. Carrig 8/6, G. T. Wagg beat W. N. A. Hosking, R. B. McPherson beat J. Corbishley 3/2. LADIES’ GAMES. ■ A medal round was played on Saturday by lady members, the following being the best scores (net): Miss W. Reed 73, Miss E. Calwell 78, Mrs W. Hendry 78. The second round of matches for the Captain’s Trophy competition was completed at the weekend and resulted as follows: —Miss N. Smith beat Mrs G. R. Turner; Miss E. Calwell beat Miss Kitchener; Miss W. Johnson beat Miss E. Samson, Mrs F. Madsen beat Miss P. Madsen. MASTERTON CLUB NO PLAY DURING WEEKEND. On account of the wet weather no golf was played on the Lansdowne links during the weekend. RIVERSIDE RESULTS OF SATURDAY’S PLAY. The best cards handed in by the lady members of the Riverside Golf Club in a L.G.U. round played on Saturday were: Mrs Gilliland 102, 34, 68; Mrs Rawlins 89, 15, 74; Mrs Clarke 97, 21, 76; Mrs Palamontain 97, 21, 76; Mrs Pool 108, 32, 76. In the men’s “Bobbin” foursomes Challis and Petty beat A. and H. Clarkson 1 up. Pool and Hoar beat Roff and Anderson 3 up and 2 to go. A. Bell and Greig Jones beat Wyeth and Bannister 2 up and 1. Hatch and Donald beat Longworth and McCalmont 1 up. Haughey and Lulham beat Onion and Leigh 1 up, Wyatt and Palamontain beat T. U. and R. Wellington 2 up, Costello and Knox beat Wearne and Wakelin 2 up and 1 to go.
