GENERAL DE GAULLE

TRIED AND SENTENCED IN HIS ABSENCE. (By Telegraph—Pross Association—Copyright) VICHY, July 6. The French Admiralty in a communique issued today forbids French naval men to wear British decorations because of “the British Navy's cowardly Aggression against the French fleet while it was disarming.” It also announced that the Petain Government is opening proceedings against Vice-Admiral Muselier (appointed by General de Gaulle commander of the free French naval forces), who is “in the pay of Britain against France." It added that Vice-Admiral Muselier has been instantly dismissed for abuse of power, discourtesy and other undisciplined acts. In Toulouse today a court-martial sentenced General de Gaulle to four years’ imprisonment and fined him 100 francs.
