BRITISH SUBMARINE’S FEAT FIVE GERMAN SUPPLY SHIPS SUNK. OFF THE NORWEGIAN COAST. The following Daventry announcements have been rebroadcast by the New Zealand National stations: — The British submarine Snapper has sunk five German supply ships off the Norwegian coast. In the first attacks the German convoy split up and took refuge in a fiord. Two ships were hit. Later, the same submarine sighted another large convoy. This time three ships were torpedoed. The Fleet Air Arm bombed and set on fire German fuel stocks at Bergen. ITALY’S SUBMARINE LOSSES. Of the 13 Italian submarines lost since Italy entered the war, two were destroyed by the same flying-boat on successive days. On the' second day, four Italian submarine officers/were rescued by the flying-boat. 'ENEMY BOMBERS SHOT DOWN. Two German bombers and one fighter were shot down in Britain yesterday, according to reports so far received. German planes bombed a south coast town,'damaging houses and causing some casualties. WAR MATERIAL SEIZED. A Iprge quantity of Italian war material has been seized while on its way to Italian forces in Libya. It includes 60 anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns and four million rounds of ammunition. Among the guns captured was one I dated 1914 and captured from the Ausi trians.
