FARMERS’ RESPONSE
CALL FOR MORE PRODUCTION. MEETING AT WANGAEHU. There was a full attendance at a meeting convened by Mr J. M. James' to consider means of increasing production and held in the Wangaehu School on Saturday night. Despite the bad weather all settlers were present. Mr James outlined the proposals, pointing out that as the surrounding land was so hilly additional ploughing was rather limited. It was unanimously decided to do all possible to increase production. Messrs James (chairman), H. H. Mawley, D. McKenzie and J. McGregor were appointed a district committee. Mr James announced that Messrs C. J. Percy, J. Donald, and D. Falloon had formed themselves into a committee to canvass the Bideford district.
