• iVIASTERTON CLUB PAIRS COMPETITION. INTERESTING STAGE REACHED. Further games of the Masterton Indoor Bowling Club’s pairs competition were played last week and the results have left the eventual winners very open in the A section, there being three pairs with two losses each. In the B section McNab and Edwards (s) by defeating Lipp and Simpson (s) have reached the top position with only one loss.

The progressive pairs will be commenced next week and players will notify the secretary if they do not wish to compete. The fixtures for this week are as follow: —Tuesday:—7 p.m., No. 1, Pinkney v. Walker; No. 2, McFarlane v. Pickering; 8 p.m., No. 1, Finlayson v. Dixon; No. 2, Walker v. Fenton; 9 p.m.. No. 1, Simpson v. Joyce; No. 2, Grantham v. Roff. Wednesday:—7 p.m., No. 1, Simpson v. Read; No. 2, Edwards v. Mayes; 8 p.m., No. 1, Harrington v. Pinkney; No. 2, Buckley v. Henson; 9 p.m., No. 1, Buckley v. Leigh; No. 2, Harrington v. Hendry. Thursday:—7 p.m., No. 1, Edwards v. Henson; No. 2, Miller v. Roff; 8 p.m., No. 1, Grantham v. McFarlane; No. 2, Stains v. Mayes; 9 p.m., No. 1, Nuttall v. McFarlane; No. 2. Park Ferns challenge, Mooney and Hendry (holders) v.
