PUBLIC NOTICES. MASTERTON COUNTY COUNCIL. PUBLIC NOTICE OF PROPOSED APPLICATION OF SANCTION OF LOAN. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Masterton County Council proposes, at its Ordinary Meeting, to be held on TUESDAY, the 9th day of July, 1940, to consider a motion to apply to the Local Government Loans Board for its sanction to the borrowing of the sum of Ten Thousand Pounds (£10,000) under the provisions of “The Rural Housing Act. 1939,” for the purpose of providing the Finance to enable advances to be made to farmers for the erection of dwellings, or adding to or repairing existing dwellings, or adapting existing premises as dwellings for their own use or for the use of any farm worker or any member of their family who is engaged in farming operations on a farm owned or leased by any farmer and situated within the County of Masterton. The security for the repayment of such Loan shall be a Special Rate of One Twenty-seventh ,(l-27d) of a Penny in the £ (£1) on the Rateable Value (on the basis of the Capital Value) of all Rateable property in the whole of the County of Masterton. Any person having any objection to the proposed application is called upon to submit the same, in writing, to the Masterton County Council not later than the day preceding the said Meeting. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to and in exercise of the powers conferred on it by “The Counties’ Act, 1920,” and “The Rating Act, 1925,” and of all other powers in that behalf enabling it, that the Masterton County Council intends at an Ordinary Meeting of the said Council, to be held in the Council Chambers, Chapel Street, Masterton, on Tuesday, the 9th day of July, 1940, at 2 p.m., to make and levy the following Rates for the year commenced on the Ist day of April, 1940, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1941:— GENERAL RATES. A GENERAL RATE under Sections 120 and 121 of “The Counties’ Act, 1920,” on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property appearing on the Valuation Roll of the six respective Ridings of the County as follows:— IN THE OPAKI RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY (Id) in the .Pound. IN THE RANGITUMAU RIDING, a General Rate of SEVEN-EIGHTHS OF ONE PENNY (gd) in the Pound. IN THE UPPER TAUERU RIDING, a General Rale of ONE PENNY AND ONE-EIGHTH OF ONE PENNY, (ljd) in the Pound. IN THE TE WHITI RIDING, a General Rate of FIFTEEN-SIXTEENTHS OF ONE PENNY (15/16d) in the Pound. IN THE URITI RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY AND THREEEIGHTHS OF ONE PENNY (Igd) in the Pound. IN THE WAINUIORU RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY AND THREE-EIGHTHS OF ONE PENNY' (lgd) in the Pound. HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID RATE. A RATE under the provisions of Section 52 of “The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926,” of FIVESIXTEENTHS OF ONE PENNY (5/16d) in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property in the County of Masterton, such Rate being required to meet the contributions payable by the Council to the Wairarapa Hospital Board. SEPARATE RATES. ALSO UNDER the provisions of “The Water Supply Act, 1908,” and amendments thereto, to make and levy separate Rates for the maintenance of Water Races within the respective Water Supply Districts as follows: — A SEPARATE RATE OF THREEFOURTHS OF ONE PENNY (:’d) in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property within the UPPER PLAIN WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT NO. 1. A SEPARATE RATE OF ONE PENNY AND ONE-SIXTH OF ONE PENNY (1 l/6d) in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property within the OPAKI WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT. A SEPARATE RATE OF ONE PENNY I (Id) in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property within the TE ORE ORE WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT. A CONTRIBUTION EQUAL TO ONE SHILLING AND SIX PENCE (1/6) per acre, with a minimum charge of Ten Shillings (10/-) over all Rateable property within the UPPER PLAIN WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT NO. 2. SPECIAL RATES. ALSO UNDER THE PROVISIONS of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926.” to collect so much as is required of each of the Annual recurring Special Rates levied on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property within the several Special Rating Districts of the County of Masterton to provide the Annual Charges on the Loans raised - in the said Districts. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that all such Rates shall become payable in one sum at the County Office, Chapel Street. Masterton, on the 24th day of July. 1940. Pursuant to a Resolution of the Masterton County Council, a Rebate of Five (5) per cent will be allowed off the GENERAL RATE if all Rates made and levied for the year ended 31st March. 1941. are paid on or before THURSDAY, the Bth day of August, 1940.
