Mr and Mrs D. Cameron, Moeraki, Hinakura, have taken up their residence in Cole Street, Masterton. Miss J. Irvine, Pownall Street, Masterton, is spending the weekend in Palmerston North.
Mrs B. U. Alcock, Hawke’s Bay. is staying at the Hotel Midland, Masterton.
Misses Siddells and Persen, late of Glenwood Private Hospital, have left Masterton for Paraparaumu Beach, where they will reside. Mrs A. P. Bennett, Renall Street, Masterton, has been spending a few days in Wellington.
Miss C. Hosking, Church Street, Masterton, who has been staying with Mrs C. Douglas (Napier), has returned to Masterton.
Mrs Gentry (nee Miss L. Caverhill) of Masterton, vzho has been in England for the past two and a half years, has returned to New Zealand and is living in Wellington. Major Gentry is on active service.
The death occurred in Wellington yesterday of Mrs Mary Manthel, at the age of 92 years, 85 of which were spent in Wellington. Mrs Manthel was born in Wallsail, Staffordshire, England, and came to New Zealand with her parents, the late Mr and Mrs William Andrews, in the ship Alma in 1856.
