MARTINBOROUGH

PLUNKET SOCIETY ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the annual meeting of the Martinborough branch of the Plunket Society there was a large attendance of members. Mrs H. W. Blundell (president) was in the chair. The report referred to the loss the branch had sustained in the death of Mrs W. J. Martin whose active interest in the Society had continued from the inception of the branch in 1917. In 1921 Mrs Martin was elected president,- and had held that position with wonderful ability and tact till her death last year. As the result of many efforts the branch had had a successful financial year, and the interest continued under the kindly guidance of Nurse Twentyman.

Officers elected for the ensuing year were as follow: Patronesses,-Mesdames A. D. McLeod and F. S. Mitchell; president, Mrs W. H. Blundell; vicepresidents, Mesdames W. B. Martin, F. P. Ward, A. Tyler, D. Cameron, J. W. Kershaw, W. Colman, F. E. Perry, John McLeod, G. Pain; committee, Mesdames G. L. Sievers, W. Roper, C. H. G. Hewitt, D. W. McConnell, L. A. Campbell, G. Hutton, A. Morrison, K. Arthur, G. W. Hardy, H. L. Griffiths, lan McLeod, L. Chapman, J. Mann. W. Knell. N. Mason, C. Moore, W. H. Martin, F. Ball, A. Warren, S. Thomas; advisory board, Messrs H. W. Blundell, W. Cameron, W. J. Martin, W. B. Martin, H. L. Griffiths, K. Arthur, W. G. Martin; hon treasurer, Mr H. L. Griffiths; hon secretary, Miss M. C. Martin; hon auditor, Mr J. Jolly. Hockey Dance. Last evening the members of the Hockey Club held a most- successful dance in aid of their funds. There was an excellent attendance and a pleasant time was spent. Several novelty dances were held.
