First prize in the “Wish me Luck” Art Union, drawn at the Masonic Hall, Wellington, last night, went to a small township in the far north of Auckland, Whangaruru South. As in the case of the previous art union, Auckland district ticket-holders figured prominently in the list of major prizes. The first prize was the last of the seven major prizes to be drawn. The number which gained fifth prize was the last of six which were drawn for the purpose, the first five being the numbers of tickets which had not been sold. Such an occurrence is unusual. The prize list is as follows: — First Prize, £2OOO. 183062, Mac, Whangaruru South. Second Prize, £lOOO. 128498, Luck Pound, Onehunga. # Third Prize, £5OO. 153371, We Too, Te Kuiti. Fourth Prize, £4OO. 18031, Bghein, Wellington butt. Fifth Prize, £3OO. 152581, Never Luckie, Te Awamutu. Sixth Prize, £2OO. 82725, Wishbone, Nelson Street, Hastings. Seventh Prize, £lOO. 53986, E. Crundevelt, Belfast. The only prize to come to the Wairarapa was £5 won by “Mug” (Masterton).
