With one son away with the forces and another waiting to be called up. Mr George Martin, of Whakapara. himself ti"cd to enlist for overseas service. He was, however, not accepted, so immediately enlisted, and was passed for home defence. He intends to sell his farm of .335 acres. The £5OO deposit he will pay to the Government as an interest-free loan for the duration of the war and 12 months thereafter. The balance of the purchase money, together with the interest. when these moneys fall due. will also be lent to the Government on the same terms. Mr Martin was for a period a member of the Whangarei County Council.
