KIATERE CLUB INVITATION RUN. GATHERING AT TINAKORA ON SATUDAY. The members of the Kiatere Harrier Club will attend an invitation run at the residence of Mr A. Burns, Tinakora on Saturday. All supporters are invited to be in attendance and a bus will leave the Post Office at 1.45 p.m. The senior race will be over a 6' mile course and carries with it Mr R. Liverton's trophy, the Rewanui Cup as first prize and the Bell trophy for second prize. The following are the handicaps for this event: R. Greeks scr: W. Burgess Imin: W. Burns 1.25; W. McDonald. A. McDonald, Al McDonald 1.45: R. Searanche 2.30: D. Nelson 2.45: W. Teahan 2.50; 0. Gaskin 4min; J. L. Burns 5.30; C. Summers 6.45; A. MaqKenzie. L. Bird 7min. The race this year promises to be very interesting as D. Nelson has won this trophy twice in succession and a win on Saturday will enable him to retain it. as his own. W. Burns has been very unlucky in this event, running three times in second place and a win by this runner would be very popular. The junior runners will compete in a 3A-m>le open handicap race, the handicaps for which are as follows: N. Jacobsen scr: F. Sexton 2.50; S. Pickett 3.30; I. Summers 4min: J. Hodgets. G. Laing 4.30. It is with much regret that the club learns that Flying Officer Clive Wylie, a very popular member of the club several seasons ago. has been posted as missing in a recent Royal Air Force report.
