EN ALIE TO CANADA

MANY GERMAN & ITALIAN VICTIMS. SURVIVORS LANDED IN BRITAIN. Survivors from a British liner of 15,500 tons have been landed at a British port, a Daventry broadcast reports. The liner, which was carrying 1500 German and Italian aliens, who were being taken to Canada for interment, went down with many German and Italian victims. A large number of those on board were asleep. There was a panic among the Germans and Italians when the ship was torpedoed. There were also on board British soldiers acting as a guard and about 300 members of the crew.
