The Associated Press of America s Tokio correspondent says Rear-Admi-ral Eizo Matsui, two captains, one lieutenant and five ratings from the Ominato naval base in Northern Japan “met with a fatal accident in the line of duty in the Strait of Tsugaru.” No details are available.
