DEFENCE LOAN
ANNOUNCED BY SOVIET RUSSIA AN IMPREGNABLE FORTRESS. “SURROUNDED BY CAPITALIST CATASTROPHES.” By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day. 1.0 p.m.) MOSCOW. July 1. A decree announces a defence loan of 8,000 million roubles “for cultural development and strengthening the country.” The Finance Commisar, M. Zunrev, said it was the duty of every citizen to subscribe to the loan. The international situation was full of the danger of possible surprise. Russia at present was an impregnable fortress surrounded by catastrophes in the capitalistic world.
