A French plane was shot down by Spanish anti-aircraft guns at La Linea. It crashed into the sea in Hames. The bodies of two French aviators were extricated, but. the others sank with the plane. The opinion is expressed that the plane was manoeuvring' to land at Gibraltar and inadvertently infringed Spanish territory.
