CENTENNIAL CUP MEETING AT HASTINGS. RESULTS OF CONCLUDING EVENTS The New Zealand Centennial Cup coursing meeting, which has been held at Longlands, Hastings, last week under the control of the Hawke’s Bay Coursing Club, concluded on Saturday. No final was run in the cup event as the two finalists, Bon Ton and Betty Micawber, were both owned by J. Woodhill, of Napier. In the N.Z. Centennial Purse, Mr J. Ryan's Glengarry was defeated in the second round while Archer Bros’ Bit-o-Blue, which won the St Leger last Saturday, was narrowly beaten in the semi final by 4 points to 3. Messrs James and Taylor’s Dainty Footsteps and Mr W. Spring’s Julius Caesai- both reached the semi-finals of the New Zealand Centennial Cup, , but both were eliminated. Third round: Elk 1J- beat China Clipper 0; Bit-o’-Blue 6 beat Gay Pariel 0; White Tracer 41 beat Paper Shade 1; Tukaia 11 beat Brdidesmaid 0. Semifinals: Elk 4 beat Bit-cf-Blue 3; Tukaia 84 beat White Tracer 2. Final: Tukaia (J. Stewart, Hastings beat Elk (E. T. Boyd, Westshore).
