GERMAN AIR RAIDERS ON BRITAIN
Prevented From Delivering Heavy Attack BOMBS DROPPED IN SEVERAL AREAS REPORTED SMALL TOTAL OF CASUALTIES AND DAMAGE (By Telegraph.—Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9 a.m.) LONDON, June .30. It is officially stated that enemy aircraft crossed the east and south coasts during’ the night and dropped bombs at a number of points. Our fighter patrols were active and the enemy was nowhere able to deliver a heavy attack. The raiders damaged an infirmary in a Midland town and bombs, falling in residential quarters, caused casualties. Other attacks were made at scattered points in the East Midlands, South England and near the Bristol Channel, but were ineffective. Raiders attacked a Scottish town with high explosive and incendiary bombs, but no damage or casualties are reported. The casualties are known to total two killed and eight injured.
