PRACTICAL HELP

WAR EFFORT BY MASTERTON A. & P. ASSOCIATION. GROUND AT SOLWAY TO BE CULTIVATED. “We can give a lead to others in the matter of increased production,” stated the president of the Masterton A. and P. Association, Mr R. E. Gordon Lee, at a meeting of the association last night. “We could plough, work and sow four or five acres of ground in the back paddocks at the Showgrounds and hand the proceeds to the Government War Account.” Mr G. F. Candy offered to plough, work and sow the land as a donation. Mr Candy’s offer was accepted with thanks and Messrs P. R. Welch. N. Blatchford and the president were appointed a committee to decide the most suitable crop to be sown, with power to act.
