Dewey, District Attorney of New York County, Frank E. Gannett, a Rochester newspaper publisher. Wendell Wilkie, director' of a number of public utility concerns. and Senator Robert A. Taft, Ohio, were officially presented for consideration as Presidential nominee at the convention of the Republican Party. Mr Dewey received an ovation lasting for 26 minutes, and Senator Taft and Mr Willkie ovations lasting 18 minutes. Mr Gannett had practically no ovation.
