SUDDEN BLAZE

PAINT FACTORY SHED AT KAIWARRA. LARGE SHED GUTTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The paint factory of Brolite (N.Z.), Ltd., at Kaiwarra, was the scene of a sudden fire at 11.30 today. A quantity of paint and chemicals turned a large shed, for some unknown reason, into a blazing mass. The fire brigade was hampered by the fact that the fire plug was 2.000 yards away and it took two engines, at necessary intervals, to boost the pressure. The shed was gutted but adjoining buildings, in one of which there was a quantity of explosives, were saved.
