NAZI PEACE OVERTURE
ALLEGEDLY MADE TO BRITAIN REPORTS REACH AMERICA FROM NEUTRALS. FRANCO AS INTERMEDIARY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) NEW YORK, June 27. The Associated Press of America reports that important business sources, with large interests in Europe, have been informed through neutrals that it is believed authentically that Germany has made sensational peace overtures to England. It is indicated that the offer would leave Britain ninetyfive per cent of her Empire, but would internationalise Gibraltar and Suez. An approach allegedly was made through General Franco.
