EKETAHUNA SALE. KEEN COMPETITION FOR SHEEP. Messrs Dalgety and Company report on their weekly Eketahuna sale held yesterday' as follows:-—A good entry’ of all classes of stock came forward and met with a ready sale, there being a large attendance of buyers. The sheep, which were of medium quality, met with keen competition. There was also a keen demand for weaner Jersey heifers, and station cattle. A total clearance was effected in all sections and the following will indicate prices: —Fat and forward wethers. 235; store wethers, 19s 8d; black-faced hoggets. 14s 3d: 2-th. ewes r.w. S.D. ram, 25s Id: failing mouth cull ewes. Gs. Weaner Jersey heifers. £3 to £3 9s: 20-mos. Jersey heifers. £4 2s: 20mos. P.A. heifers (small), £2 3s. We also offered a pen of small 2th. wethers on behalf of the Tiraumea Red Cross Appeal. These met with spirited bidding making 16s Gd.
