HOLLYWOOD HINTS. If you’re one of those women who get “watch-the-clock” jitters when you have a date, and there just isn’t any time to give your face a complete make-up, take a note from the beauty books of Hollywood's fairest ladies. They have beauty secrets which make one feel a new women in no time at all.
Penny Singleton is kept busy playing “Blondie” on the screen for Columbia and often goes directly from the set to keep her engagement’ for the evening. Miss Singleton always carries a small container of cleansing petals in her purse which she uses to remove her make-up and freshen her complexion. The entire operation takes about three minutes.
Jean Blondell’s eyes receive special attention if time does not permit a thorough session at her beauty parlour. She always carries a tiny bottle of eye drops with her, which she uses religiously before going out. She says that clear, sparkling eyes are the inevitable reward for their brief beauty treatment. Rita Hayworth. Columbia contract player, has another treatment for her eyes. She adds a few drops of oil of pine to an ounce of distilled witch hazel, saturates absorbent cotton with this solution and applies the. cotton to the eyelids for two minutes. She insists that this beauty treatment is doubly beneficial as it insures a few moments rest while the pads are held to the eyes. • Rochelle Hudson says she is ready to face the world if her lipstick is fresh, so she always has on hand a supply in miniature lipstick blotters to remove the caked coating before she applies a fresh coat of her favourite shade.
